Comments

“It was through Regency's willingness to work with the District that we were able to sell the old school, use it for an additional year and construct a new school in the attendance area where the students who attend it live. This was a very complicated deal that Regency worked with the District to make it a reality.” - Steve Bolman, Deputy Superintendent Business Services, Petaluma City Schools

Petaluma High School Students Designing Benches

In addition to his sculptural fountain, artist Seyed Alavi has been working with Dan Sunia, Petaluma High School's Industrial Technology teacher, and his class to help students develop unique designs for benches they will fabricate for East Washington Place. Bench designs will be created by the students in response to some aspect of the project site, such as its former use as a high school, green building and recycling, poetry and text, or the natural surroundings of the region. These benches will be integrated into the landscape plan throughout the entire project.

Target's Donations to Local Schools

Target has donated over $94,000 to Petaluma schools through its Take Charge of Education program. The program tracks purchases made by participating REDcard holders and then sends a no-strings-attached donation check directly to the school's principal. REDcard holders can enroll in the Take Charge of Education program and select the school to receive a percentage of their purchases. Visit Target.com/tcoe to track your school's progress and find out how you can help.
